Deron Feivel asked:

Recording artist Terrance Day is in the process of breaking a new record (no pun intended). His goal is to sell 1,000,000 copies of the new independent CD “A Simple Life”. This is being done through his own popular web site

He is offering free permanent web exposure to each “Official Sponsor” and “Supporter”. The site steadily receives more web site visitors each day. Terrance said, “traffic is coming in from all over the world every hour”.

Individuals, families, businesses owners, and organizations can be part of making music history! Everyone who supports this effort with a CD purchase receives a permanent place on the web site. Their name and link are added to the “Official Sponsor” or “Supporter” page online. During the official launch this week, has received more than 92,000 unique visitors.

“The web site was developed over a period of a few months”, said Terrance. He has been making his own web sites since 2000 after he left his last corporate job as a Tech Recruiter. This web site seems to be destined to be his most popular web site so far.

“Clear Channel owns all the major radio stations and venues. Most musicians aren’t aware that few people control so much of what we hear” says Susan Tedeschi, a Berklee College of Music graduate from Massachusetts. It may be true that most independent Artists like Terrance Day won’t receive major airplay in the US. However, new emerging talent can still be heard through an online presence. This has been proven with independent music sales through CD Baby, iTunes, and other online music stores.

The CD “A Simple Life” can be previewed and ordered online for $4 and additional copies are only 99 cents (plus shipping & handling) at! “Official Sponsors” and “Supporters” also get a free digital copy of the CD, free ringtones featuring samples off the CD, plus more. A portion of sales will be donated to a non-profit organization called “Christian Children’s Fund”.

Terrance wrote 10 songs in 10 days from Nov. 1 to Nov. 11 in 2003. Those songs are included on the CD “A Simple Life”. After 4 years of recording and music production, he hopes to make a healthy impact on his audience. Songs on this new CD feature original Rock and Country music, with Alternative and Pop influences. The lyrics share positive messages with colorful imagination, faith, and life experiences. The CD was released last month on his own independent record label called “3000 Records”.

Previously, Terrance Day has toured around the USA several times since 1999. During the last tour in 2003 he drove a 1973 Plymouth Fury station wagon nicknamed the “Superwagon” from Michigan to Texas and many other states! He likes to write music that inspires people and share the music with as many people as humanly possible! He is available for booking at venues like coffee shops, churches, restaurants, bars, house concerts, or even as an opener for bigger acts. The next tour will begin this December, and continue well into 2008.

While selling 1,000,000 CDs is a major challenge, he remains focused on the goal. was created so people who support independent music could help make music history! He confidently shares his goal with just about everyone he connects with. Terrance smiled as he said, “Even if I meet 1% of my goal, that would still be quite significant! You never know ’til you try.”

Music-industry Expert Moses Avalon Launches Groundbreaking Portal

Eric de Fontenay asked:

Leading music-industry expert The Moses Avalon Company announced the launch of an interactive educational portal based on its successful Confessions of a Record Producer live-workshop series. Confessions Workshop On-Line contains 11 lessons, containing subjects ranging from copyright and royalties to new developments in digital distribution, music piracy, and the iTunes model. There is also an extensive library of Q&A compiled from years of live workshops and a link to ask Mr. Avalon direct questions. The only music-business workshop in the nation accredited by the California Bar Association, Confessions Workshop On-Line makes it simple for artists, songwriters, producers, and others to view the program anytime, anywhere.

Superstar producer Rob Chiarelli (Christina Aguilera, Will Smith) describes it as “the most well thought-out, articulate, and comprehensive workshop ever conceived. Absolutely the best”. Other industry pros’ comments have echoed this sentiment. “With so much change in the music industry lately and more artists using unconventional methods to further their careers, Confessions Workshop On-Line is the perfect tool for them to stay informed and empowered about their rights in a contract and their business in general”, says CEO Moses Avalon, “This is like having 24/7 access to a music-industry expert at your beck and call. Considering today’s economy, it’s far better than traveling to a live workshop or spending thousands on a music-industry college class.”

About Moses Avalon

Mr. Avalon began his career by producing and engineering records for several major and independent labels. After noticing that all the “how-to” books on the music industry were written from a formally-legal perspective and thus inaccessible to musicians, he took a more informal, real-world approach when writing his first best-seller, Confessions of a Record Producer: How To Survive the Scams and Shams of the Music Business. The book is now integrated in over 40 colleges’ curricula and the inspiration for a successful live workshop and online education portal. Mr. Avalon remains an active lecturer around the world, popular blogger of Moses Supposes, frequent guest at Bar Association events, CEO of The Moses Avalon Company, and author of two other books on the music industry.
